I have just built a machine from scratch. I have fitteda AMD 1800XP pro Thoroughbred processer on boot up the machine is showing it as a AMD 1100MHz.

How do I change this??

Go into bios at start of computer and set FSB or frequency to 133 it will be set at 100 at the moment

There may be a jumper on the motherboard that does it. Check the manual

you have helped me on many an occasion. I have done what you said at start up it still shows 1150MHz but machine is running fine when I get it going (see next posting)

Check to see what Bios your computer has, it tells you this at start up, and then check your motherboard manufacturers website to see what processor you motherboard will support and what Bios you need to support the processor you have. That may be the problem.
