hey guys got a tough one here, my computer has been taken down by msi's live update... it got interrupted and the pc will now not post...anyone have any ideas on how to do a blind flash?
ms-7222 PM8Pm-v mobo

Their website only offer live update bios so i can't get the bios to put on a floppy to try and save the day.

Pull out the Main PC power cord from back of machine and remove the small CR2032 battery carefully from the motherboard or short the pins to clear the BIOS. Then put it back and then try to see if it will boot.

Is this motherboard fitted in a machine like a Medion or other brand ?

Have a read of the instructions at the bottom of this MSI page and see if they help.

You will need to use a different system to make the floppy, of course.

I'm sorry - I understand now what you said there isn't a BIOS file to put onto a floppy.

i have found the following infi from an old aida report.

Phonex technology ltd
version 6.00pg 8/23/2006

P4M800PRO-823 6A7L6M4AC-00

PM8PM-W7222VIE V3 0B2 082306 17.34.05

VIA P4M800PRO

MICROSTAR

WOULD ANYBODY KNOW WHERE I COULD GET A COPY?

I was told thatb if i put my broken computer harddrive in another as a slay the set up file for the upgrade would be in the programme files.

Is this a red herring?

This is how i did it.
i booted the computer with a win 98 start up disk to the point of the A:/

i exchanged the floppy to a second floppy containing the flash utility awdflash.exe plus the new bois file P4M8101.BIN
i typed awdflash.exe and when promted for file name i type P4M8101.BIN (downloaded from softpedia)

it took a few minutes then i rebooted to a perfect computer with the new bios.
i had to reactivate windows and bob your uncle done.
