Bios Backup

Hi everyone i have noticed in threads that if you need to change the mobo battery you are advised to write down all of the settings can anyone tell me if there is a way or a programme that can do this for you automaticly.
Thanks for any help on this.

Not that i know of

When you put the new battery in you should "load optimised settings" in the BIOS

Incedentally the BIOS will return to "factory settings"

If the battery is out for a few moments there will be no problem on modern pcs

Some motherboard companies (like mine, ABIT) include tools that do this..

I have never attempted to use any of these tools, as there are so many things that could go wrong with them, and it is easier and safer to do it all manually

Thanks GANDALF < |:-)> and mattyc_92.

Ignore what GANDALF < |:-)> has said

Taking the battery out WILL reset the BIOS, and this "GANDALF < |:-)>" isn't the real GANDALF.....

Someone has been impersonating him on the forum since about 1pm today... The real GANDALF doesn't have a space after the "<" (in other words his name is GANDALF <|:-)>)

Hope that makes sense....
