BigFix alternative

I used to use a program called BigFix which used to can my computer and let me know if any of the programs I had on it were out of date and would then download any updates available. Similar to the way Windows Update works but it did it for all the programmes installed on the PC as well as all the games I had.

This program seemed to stop working ages ago and I wondered if there was anything similar available which would scan all the stuff on my PC and then download updates?

I found it a really useful bit of kit and ever since I have had to manually trawl each manufacturers website to find any updates.

Cheers ppl

BigFix will be still working (I also use it) but with Microsoft, for instance, now issuing security bulletins only once a month you may not get as many alerts.
