I have a friend who keeps extolling the virtues of this software is there any need for it?
running XP Home with AVG, CCcleaner and Ad-ware and I don't seem to have any problems (touch wood)and anyhow I can always get help here.
Thanks Joe

It serves a purpose but I prefer to sort out my own updates as and when I want to.

Bigfix is a utility that makes you aware of updates for your system,I believe.

I've started using Bigfix recently and it is excellent. It picks up some Windows patches that Windows Update misses (for some reason). Free, easy to use and well worth having.
