Better download speed thru wireless than wired

Hi,

I have a PC and a laptop connected to my linksys router.

The PC is connected via an ethernet cable and the laptop thru the built in wireless antenna.

Now when I run speed tests (using adslguide.org), I constantly get better results on the laptop than the PC.

Laptop = 2.3Mbps DL, 0.4Mbps upload
PC = 1.7Mbps DL, 0.4Mbps upload

I'm on MaxDSL with the router syncing at 3.5Mbps and a stable rate (according to Plusnet) of 2.5Mbps

I'm guessing there must be something on the PC that is slowing the connection as surely the PC should provide a better transfer rate from the router thru a wired connection.

Any ideas?

Thanks
