Best way to back up over a network?

  John Ross 21:14 27 Feb 05

I back up all my data files (about 10GB) onto another computer on my home network (one computer Xp Home, one is XpPro, linked by Ethernet).

It takes a long time to do this and as most files don't change I am looking to use folder synchronisation rather than simply copying.

Can you suggest the best way to do this?

Is there free or cheap software required?

I tried a freebie,it was crap and put me off trying a pay to use app, although it was quite likely I had made a hash of the setup initially. :-)
