I use an AverMedia capture card, cost about £35.00 from Maplins.

Comes with software as well.

Use it for transfering VHS tapes to DVD.

Full name Is AverMedia DVD EZmaker Gold.

Card has a built in A-D converter.

The leads and box for going from Scart on the VHS to Svideo on the card came from the States about $23.00. Maplins own ones no good as the only capture in B/W.

The Canopus UK website lists the ADVC-50 digital
converter at £119 plus vat so its fairly expensive
