I would like to know which is the best internet connection service in London. I currently use AOL which costs about £16 monthly or £17.

Are there any cheatper monthly connections which are just as good. I do not want any 'hidden' charges.

Thank you.

If you can get NTL, go for their £14.99 128K Cable service. Far better than any dial-up.

If you can't, there are many dial-up services that are cheaper than AOL, and reliable. Whether they are 'better', only you can decide.

If you click here and use the ISP Wizard, you will get a very helpful overview of the options. Pay particular attention to the User reviews and ratings.

For an ordinary dial-up anytime service I suggest
Onetel; £12.99/month.

Have a look here:

I have dial-up via gio internet, £7.99 per month (alot cheaper than its rivals). I have found it much better than the isp i was with before (Freeserve, who told me to use a P.A.Y.G. number and after running up a huge bill, without me knowing, when i rang them to complain, they said"ah well TUFF")
if you use the net for long periods, just make sure you read the small print on any isp as their usage does vary somewhat.

SWITCHER, yeah i though £2.99 was a bit too good to be true.
