Best disk imaging software?

Hi,

I'm looking for some disc imaging software, so that I can just take a "image" of my Boot drive, and back it up in case I need to format. What would be the best software to use, ideally one that I can create a boot disc for, then browse for the image file..

Thanks

Definitely Acronis True Image. If you run Vista, make sure you use version 11 or later.

never got on with Acronis, so for me it's Norton Ghost V12

With Acronis you make a boot disk for recovery of an image to a hard drive.

You can "mount" an image in Windows, using a facility in Acronis - and it appears as a virtual replica of the original drive structure that you can copy from to recover files and/or folders.
