My desktop is currently connected to a router via ethernet. I have installed the software & drivers successfully for the afore mentioned Belkin wireless adaptor but it does not show up in the system tray or Connections. It is in Device Manager. When it is plugged in, the blue LED on the Belkin lights momentarily then goes out.

I have also installed it on another desktop (to check whether the Belkin is at fault or not) & it works fine so something is wrong on the PC it seems.

Any ideas gratefully received.

Might be useful having a look here, click here as you have given very little information in your post.

Desktop model,OS,model of adapter, any error messages. etc

Have a look at this open the PDF File anscroll down to "Disabling the Belkin Wireless Utility" there may be a clue there as to how to Enable it.
