Belkin wireless adaptor problem

  the-george 11:28 25 Nov 08

Have freshly installed 2k pro on a dual boot system with ME.

installed adaptor software on ME partition and all works fine.

Installed software on 2k and I get the icon in sys tray and device manager says it is working ok but it does not pick up any signal from router. Usually it would pick up signal and ask for encryption key. There is an icon in sys tray which says LAN not connected.

Did same installation on my other Pc with 2k pro a while back and did not get this problem at all. Any help appreciated.

p.s. ISP is Sky.

No problem with the adapter on ME on same pc.

"There is an icon in sys tray which says LAN not connected"

That's because you have no ethernet cable connected, not needed if you're going wireless.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the wireless adapter on 2k.

PS: Will 2k connect if wired to the router?

Tried un-reinstalling adapter.

PC has no network card installed - hence use of wireless adapter.

You need to launch the Belkin Wireless Utility software and click connect, it will then ask you for wireless key.
