Belkin modem cutting out

Our belkin modem (entitled ADSL2 + Modem with wireless G Router on the front) keeps losing internet connection. Generally it cuts three to four times an hour, with all the normal lights showing on the modem showing green apart from the internet connection on the end whch goes out. Eventually it goes green and re establishes connection after 5 minutes on its own. Switching the modem off then on also re establishes connection eventually. I have done a complete virus check and checked the wires, but havent found anything. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks

The green light coming and going can be anyone of the following problems

The broadband line has a high signal to noise ratio or a loose or bad connection and need to be

checked by your ISP

The modem at the exchange or at your end is faulty and need to be checked and replaced by your

ISP

The main broadband socket connections is loose or bad

If using an extension socket from the main broadband socket, you need to get it checked for a

loose or bad connections

Replace the line filter and make sure that there is a filter on all equipment installed on the line

You can also try changing the phone line cable from the modem to the broadband socket and

see if that make any difference
