I have had a new PC for 3 weeks and ever since I got it you here a beep when you power up the PC,you hear the fans and the Hard drive spinning up and then you hear a beep I think the beep sound is normal but why I am concerned is that occasionally when I power the PC up sometimes I do not hear this beep and the monitor does not switch itself on from standby and when I do switch the monitor on manually it says no signal and returns to standby.Could anyone help me with this thanks.

A single short beep is normal. It's the PC BIOS carrying out the POST (power on self test), thats why its at start-up.

Hi, as Micro-Man says, a single beep is normal,
but you should power-up your Monitor before starting the PC.

However, that 'No beep' sounds ominous. When this happens, I assume that the hard disk does not power up either. What else fails and how do you get round it? Have you advised your retailer of the problem?

Re xania Everything powers up as normal its just there is no signal to the monitor when this happens and the monitor returns to standby because of this.To resolve it I switch the power switch on the back of the PC to off this normally resolves it sometimes I may need to do it twice, the power switch on the front does not shut the PC down when this problem happens. This problem may only happen about 3 times a week.

Hi again, the power switch on the front of pc needs to be held in for at least 4 seconds in order to power off.

Thanks Xania I will remember that.

No beep at startup is bad. It has failed the POST and you should contact the seller immediately.
