BBC Website and Win Media Player

Hi all,
I run Win Xp Home.
I use Win Media player 8 to view Video and Music Clips etc.

My problem is this whenever I try to download News clips from the BBC News Website the download goes fine but whenever I try to view the clips via my Media Player it says that the clip cannot be viewed because it is a unsupported format.

Can any one help me out

Many Thanks Fatbelly

you need to download Real Player. Some where on the bbc page you'll find "real media" click on that & it will take you to their home page. at the bottom of the page you will find the free real one player

Sadly, the BBC has decided to provide its digital output in RealPlayer format, as Powerless says.

WMP cannot display / play Real's file formats. The BBC provide links to Real players - just look carefully on the BBC page where you are trying to view clips from, you will see a link for a player (often under Help / difficulties in playing clips).

The BBC has been using RealPlayer's variants and RealOne for a number of years.
