Batch Script needed?? - Wifi Problem

  speedy12 15:06 07 Apr 05

Im having trouble with my Wifi connection. I get a "Limited or no connectivity" icon on the taskbar, if i right click, i can see a message that says "Invalid IP address". I have tried numerous things as mentioned in various websites, but the only thing that works is the following at the command prompt:

Type in: ipconfig /release
after its done, type in: ipconfig /renew
the type
netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt - hit enter
then type
ipconfig /flushdns - hit enter
then type
ipconfig /registerdns - hit enter
----------------------------------------------- there any way i can run a script on startup that will automate the commands for me?

(p.s, thought this is more of a helproom question rather than a specific network forum question!)

you can try this (no harm if it doesnt work):

1. Create a new text file
2. In the text file put:
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns
netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt
ipconfig /registerdns
3. Save the file and rename it to ip.bat
4. Add this to your startup group

I suspect you only need ipconfig /renew & ipconfig /registerdns
