BAT File - Opening in background?

  Stuart Leyland 16:44 25 Feb 03

On my sisters computer, she uses MSN Messenger and an addin called Messenger Plus (click here for more info). In order to get the two to work together properly, a BAT file is required. Here is the contents of the file:

"c:\program files\messenger plus! 2\msgplus.exe"

"c:\program files\messenger\msmsgs.exe" /background

(Note: there is no return in between them in the BAT file)

That has gone in the Startup folder and does it's job perfectly but what I'd like to get rid of, is the window which pops up as it's going through each line. If not at that point, at least when it's finished. Is there any way to do this? I've already tried to add /background to the link (as with the MSN Messenger line above) but it didn't work.

Any suggestions?

Kind regards

Use Windows Explorer to locate the .bat file, right-click it and choose Properties.

Tick the box marked "Close window after exiting".
