Bandwidth & external link ...

... if I link to an external site from my own website - who foots the bandwidth overhead? I mean, will the external page be routed via my site - and so register as MY BANDWIDTH - or does it go to the visitor's computer direct - thus entailing no extra bandwidth for me?

your visitor will be taken there, and any downloading is subsequently from the server on which that site is hosted.
