Bad Image

On my other PC I also run XP and was downloaded atomatically some updates.
I then rebooted and now all I get is
‘Explorer.exe –Bad Image
This application or DLL C:\Windows\System32\SHDOCVW.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check against your installation diskette.’
I do not get any images on the screen, it loads, up comes this message and thats it.
So what and were do I check on the diskette. I cant even go on line so am stuck!!
Any help would be usefull.

put your XP CD in the tray then go Start > Run > and type in ( or copy and paste this ) sfc /scannow Note the space between sfc and /. This should repair any corrupt or damaged files. If it does not work, post back. : }

Many thanks, but cant access the Start>Run>.

Nothing on the screen but the wall paper. All other programes work if I use Cont.Alt.Delete and then can access the icons through Window task manager.
