Bad download

Windows update, offered me an update for Netgear adapter,
I allowed it to download and install this update,
This happens every time I bootup or come out of hibernation.
A box appears saying.
“an unsupported operation was attempted”
Click OK and it comes straight back,
Click OK it comes back again, click OK and it does not return.
The netgear smart wizard appears on screen,
With no middle, just a grey box with netgear name at the top,
And all the normal things at the bottom.
I tried reverting back to a previous driver, which it did,
Did not make any diff.
This has not affected my ability to go onto the network
Its just a flipping nuisance

Have you tried system restore ?

I'm always wary of any Windows update for hardware... if you need a driver to fix a specific issue you are best going to the manufacturers site.
Otherwise leave well alone if all is OK.

i never ever do these type of updates because they are very very unreliable

You need to set Updates to Manual, so you can choose what to download and install when you want to do them. Automatic is why you see so many problems on hear after updates
