Backup iTunes Library

Hi folks. My nephew is getting a new hard drive installed on his pc. I know from experience how to transfer over emails to OE, but I cant remember the best way to backup and then import the songs in an iTunes library. i think I did it myself a couple of years ago but not sure how!

He has about 1.5gig of music. And he has a few memory sticks which probably have that much space between them. Or he has a blank DVD or CDs.

Can you just "drag" across the files and then drag them to the new hard disk? If using the CD/DVD does have to burn them or can you just drag them across?

What about playlists..??!

You do the whole thing in iTunes, just select 'backup to disc' from the file menu, and yes, you can back up your playlists.
