Stupidly I've built up a large number of messages in folders in Outlook Express and I can't seem to locate them on the C drive to be able to back them up on a CD.The Outlook Express help facilty refers to .dbx extension but I can't find any.

Any thoughts anybody ?

If you run a search for documents *.DBX, Windows should find them.

Mine are in C:\Docs & Settings\Andrew(my name)\Local settings\Application data\Identities

The messages are all stored in a single file - not separately. You should also consider backing up your address book. Unfortunately, if you back all this up to your HDD, you will find that your address book backup will change every time your main copy updates - fine under the right circumstances but - if one becomes corrupt.... There are utiltities that manage this process for you. Some are free but I prefer click here
