Backing up with FTP to Webspace

  murgle 19:05 10 Feb 04

I like the idea of being able to back up my data over the Web, and have looked at companies that offer this kind of service, but think they are expensive.

My Webspace provider allows me 1.2GB of Web space of which my Website uses 200mb leaving 1GB of free space.

Is there any reason why I shouldn't upload my data by FTP to store on my Webspace as a back up. I have uploaded a few files and dowloaded them and they open fine.

Are there any problems I should be aware of.

Thanks for your time.

Apart from the fact that people may end up being able to find your files then no there is no reason why you can't use it to make 'backup' copies of files in this way.
