Backing up folder icons

Hi gang, back for a little more help. I am using the following small batch file to update a selection of excel files on a laptop with the information updated/stored on a pen disk. ""xcopy g:\Desktop\Rifle\*.* C:\"Documents and Settings\John\Desktop"/s/y/d
pause""
This works fine for all of the data and subfolders etc, however the folder in the original have had their icons changed. When the batch file is run to copy the files/folders from the pen disk, all of the "icons" are repalced with the standard default folder ones.
Is there a way of improving the batch file, so that the icons are either retained as the originals or updated with the data.
I have tried including an extra line in the script to move the .ini file that describes the icon, to no availa.
Any ideas?

Ended up changing to "Synbach" software. This now keeps the modified icons. Not the total answer but at least it works!
