Has anyone used or is using BTs Digital Vault to store files and folders as back up. Do you recommend it? Any problems?

It's cheaper to buy an External Hard Drive, but remember not to keep it next to your PC.

for what reason? or am i being silly in my old age?

That's a new External HDD every year.

Theft, Fire & Flood.

Lose one, you lose both if they are together.

Yes it is the price of a hard drive every year but at least all files are stored off site, away from the computer in case of theft, fire, flood. Hard drives do fail and CD/DVDs get damaged.
