Whats the best back up software to purchase?

I think that for a system backup, a "drive image" of some sort is best... either Acronis TrueImage or similar... I don't express a preference...

Then, providing you keep data on a different partition, (which may be on the same physical Hard drive or otherwise),...

For data backup I think the best is to just have another HDD, (internal or external), and copy files across using Windows Explorer.

This means restoring a system backup, from Acronis, doesn't restore over data.

It does mean you need to have seperate partitions... something which always causes debate here!

Of course there's Windows Backup click here which won't cost you a penny if you have a Windows CD.

However, that is not as good as Acronis TI or Norton Ghost should your system fail to boot, for example.
