Avira oddity

  avesnes1 16:54 30 Sep 10

Does anybody know why Avira gives me the the following message, "Access to the file "J:\Autorun.inf' was blocked for your security" when I plug in my Seagate external hard drive?

Everythings seems to work normally after the message and I am just curious as to what's going on with Avira, particularly as the message does not appear if I insert my HP Personal Media Drive (a removable hard drive) into the HP Pavilion tower. I am using XP SP3.

Go to configuration (expert mode) then guard and scan, exceptions. Untick block autorun.

northumbria61 & numskull -- thanks for your replies. I had had a look around the configuration settings but I had missed the expert mode tick box.

I've unticked the block autorun box so presumably this little niggle will disappear. Thanks again for your knowledge.
