Where was the AVI file sourced from?

It may be a problem with codecs. AVI files can have different codecs, like XviD, Divx4,5, 3IVX etc, and nero may not understand the codec properly anc spit out a mangled image.

Nero can also leave a little bit to be desired in it's quality of vcd's.

If you are running XP you could use moviemaker, or if you have a prog' such as Ulead Videostudio, your vcd will be of a better quality.

i'll try movie maker for now, i'll keep you posted
