AVI files burn to DVD

I have several AVI files on my PC and want to back them up and save them as they are onto a DVD, at present I seem to run into problems, the Nero version I have wants to convert them and then wants to burn to a CD, this is not what i want to do. I want them as AVI on a DVD. Is this possible? If i send them to my DVD drive the windows wizard wants to put them onto a CD, which is not big enough to take the files.

Burn them as data files - you can get several movies on one disk by storing in the original format.

You can always convert to DVD format, for playing on dedicated DVD players, later if you want to do that.

As €dstowe says, burn them as data DVDs. Also...... "the windows wizard wants to put them onto a CD,"......... Windows can't burn to DVD only CD, that's why you need third party software, such as Nero and the likes, to burn to DVD.
