Hi all im at my wits end,basically i am looking for a cheap no frills avi to dvd converter,ive heard there are many freewares out there but dont know were to start,i am trying to convert and then burn my avi files on to dvd to view on tv/dvd player..

Have you tried Windows Movie Maker that comes with XP or Windows Live

As said Flick is ideal suggest you make an Iso image first though as Flick will sometimes convert and burn unusable formats alas with no warning, resulting in a coaster . It will on;y take about 15 mins to then burn to dvd once proven ,The initial conversion can take a few hours
