AVG & Outgoing Mail

  Declanworld 12:43 14 Jul 05

AVG keeps certifying outgoing mail, in spite of my having unchecked this option. This also gives the receiver the impression I've sent them an attachment.

Any ideas?

Hi Declanworld,

I'm guessing that your AVG is set up to act as a proxy both in and out bound, and that it defaults to adding an attachment because of this. If this is the case you'll have to reset the POP3 and SMTP addresses so that AVG's proxy is bypassed. I'm only guessing mind, but there is info on AVG's site for setting, and conversely, un-setting AVG as a proxy. It might be worth emailing AVG to clarify things.

I meant to say POP3 and SMTP port numbers, not addresses.
