avg installation made pc go haywire

  castiel333 00:09 01 Jan 08

Ive just installed avg on an old pc running windows me and just after it loaded it kept jumping in the system tray and words saying something like "connecting to pop" kept flashing then the pc would restart.

I managed to uninstall it and now the pc is running fine but Im scared to try it again in case I mess up the system.

I have avg installed in my other pc (xp) and have never had a problem with it.

I have just set up this pc today on wireless for my daughter but I do not really want her to use it without virus protection so Im not sure what to do next.

Select custom install and disable Email checking. Or install Avast instead click here

Like brundle said probably the wrong e-mail address. If you can disable e-mail checking. You can always sort it out when it has been downloaded.I would imagine it would have the same effect on whatever a/v that you downloaded.
