Thanks - is this different to the normal free AVG? Since moving to Avira on w7 it has reported stopping two virus attempts, but I always liked AVG on XP for its instant e Mail scan. Not sure whether to stay with Avira, or move to MS Security essentials or AVG!

My choice would be MS Security essentials every time.

Yes this is the pay for version.
It gives you another choice. But if you are happy with Avira stick with it.
I have never tried MSE but not heard any bad reports about it yet.
I have always used AVG and apart from the odd little problem it has been fine so I stick with what I know.
Not sure how it works know but i think you can keep the keycode they send you and use it a bit later if you wish. But I cannot remember if you have to download AVG first or not.

This doesn't give away much.
Certainly not AVG.
