Hi

I have installed AVG Anti Spyware 7.5 from filehippo.

When I open it up, it states version 7.5.143 trial and will expire in 25 days.

I thought it was a permanent free version, any advice please?

AVG AntiSpyware runs in Full format for 25 days, then if un-purchased it cuts the realtime protection and many other features then continues in reduced Free status from that point.

There is also a version that is not free, are you sure you downloaded the free version??

Thanks folks for the quick reply.

Yes I believe I did download the free version, however, having looked on the comparison chart link, that's what I think I should have.

Should I uninstall the version I have now, or leave it until it expires?

(Apologies, not very good with all these downloads)

Whatever version of AVG you have "free" or otherwise, take it. It works

If it were me I would leave it for now then when you have to uninstall it.

The lastest version, 7.5.488, of the free edition is here:

That's AVG AV, not AVG anti-spyware, latest versions both at Filehippo or Grisoft

It even mentions the 30 day part on the Filehippo page....

OK thanks folks, I'll take your advice and leave it until it expires.

“anchor” thanks but I don't need the AV, it's spyware / malware I'm talking about.
