AVG 8 Database Update is disabled

I get the above message every time I try to update AVG 8, together with the ominous reminder that some components are in error.
How can I correct this?

Apparently if you search for and delete the "sched.cfg" file, then tick Automatic Updates in AVG and then update, then reboot your computer, the corrupt "sched.cfg" file is replaced and fixes the problem.
