Attempted to upgrade from 7.5 to 8.0 unfortunately froze pc and i had to reboot to clear it, I tried to remove 7.5 from add/remove thinking this was the problem (although 8 said it would remove it automatically)and now get error msg "installation failed" and i cannot remove it in order to install Avast.

Anyone got any idea how to remove all traces of AVG.

Try Revo uninstaller click here

skidsy Had uninstalled and reinstalled a Messanger program that refused to work properly on one machine but OK on another machine.
Tried Revo and was surprised at the number of registry entries left behind. Deleted them and reinstalled and Program now working fine.
Many thanks for the lead to Revo.
