AVG 7 antivirus software (free version)

  albu 11:10 13 May 05

I'm just about to install avg 7 free version anti-virus software onto a pc running XP home.

If all goes wrong how can it be uninstalled?

As there is no support for it where do you go with any problems?

Finally, is it any good?

Many thanks in advance!

I had AVG for a couple of years, before going to Norton. It was a excellent package, and gave me no trouble at all. Go onto the site to update it regularly, (as you should with all anti-virus). If you wish to uninstall, it should come straight out using the standard windows uninstall program.

AVG is the most popular free anti-virus program around, and should give you very little problem.

1) Comes with standard uninstall option

2) Here's as good a place as most for AVG advice, They also have a useful technical FAQ page click here however avast! click here does give e-mail support to free version and hosts its' own support forum.

3) Yes, both Grisoft (AVG) and alwil (avast!) are listed as Microsoft Security partners click here Bill not being in the business of associating his company with the inept.
