AV Software for Standalone PC

I wish to get hold of some AV software for a standalone PC which in essence can check for viruses prior to the disk being inserted into any of the typing pool's pc's (also standalone). It will need to be updateable to keep up with the eejits who produce viruses and do not know which way to learn.

Can Norton's / McAfee / AVG etc be able to download the updtaes to a cd perhaps or evena floppy. That way I can do updates from home on net, copy the file and install on standalone. Failing that does anybody know of abetter way to do this. I have 20 people per week with a disk that is put in several machines and i want to keep my systems virus free.

yes, you can download the DAT files from the websites, as long as the product has been activated...
