Automatic Updates issue + External HDD

  Benontheroad 20:09 11 Dec 06

Hi there - I have an external Hard Drive and every so often I see new folders appear on it with random folder names always containing a string of numbers and letters - the folders always contain a file called msxml4.txt

I have just worked out that these folders are being created on my external HDD whenever I download and install an automatic update from microsoft's website

Does anyone know how you can stop Automatic Updates creating these folders on my external HDD? They are getting a little annoying!

Thanks in advance

Just delete them,i believe they are just part of the update log.
We did have a thread a little while ago about this, but sadly i cannot find it.
