Hi everyone,
does anyone know of a registry tweak, that will get rid of automatic downloads.
I turned it off in services, and now the shield
is on the taskbar telling me ever so often,
"that my computer may be at risk".I dont want to
enable them again after last week, and the downloads that locked me out of the internet

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks ger.

I suggest Control Panel, Security Centre and at the bottom of the page click on Automatic updates. On the page that appeare you have several options. I have chosen to turn off auto updates and do my own check regularly.

If you set services to notify(do not download or install) you get offered the download only. If you do not want the download you untick it. If you change your mind you can then sill get it.

To stop being notified go to Control Panel, Security, Security Center, Change the way that Security Center alerts me.
