Auto update of Anti Virus hangs my system.

  Shree 13:02 09 Apr 07

I am using Dell Inspiron 1200 Laptop. I have installed a original Quich Heal antivirus in my system.
The problem is if I keep the Automatic Update option on my antivirus "ON", it hangs my system on startup (after some time). But if i keep it "OFF" and manually do the automatic update, then after updating it hangs and I have to restart it again. But on checking my antivirus update again it shows that it has been updated. The same is also visible from the virus database option on the Quick Heal antivirus screen. On re-updating, it says that it is fully updated. But this time there is no hanging problem.

Please help me in this and oblige.

Yours truly
Shree Damani

Perhaps you could try using a free AV such as Avast, and see if the problem is recurring.

Make sure that Quick Heal is uninstalled first.

If the problem does repeat, then it may not be your existing AV.

While it gets good results at VirusBulletin, QuickHeal isn't that common here and I suspect that you'll find forum members familiar with it rather thin on the ground. Have you tried the QuickHeal support centre click here or their call centre click here ?
