Auto Logon Registry value

My computer seems to be having problems maintaining a certain registry value.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\AutoAdminLogon

used to be set to "1". Which meant inevitably the Admin would automatically logon (Windows XP Pro btw)

However, after one successful reboot, the registry seems to loose this value and it changes to "0", in which case i have to logon manually

I keep changing it back to 1 but again it changes to 0 after restarting twice

any suggestions as to how i may maintain the constant value?

Regards
Nick
