authentic PayPal?

Had an email purportedly from Pay Pal - with a link which asked me to update my account details saying-

"Dear valued customer
We regret to inform you that your Pay Pal account could be suspended ...........if your problems could not be resolved your account will be suspended"

Do you think this is authentic?

There is also another scam involving paypal saying you have bought sex items , I telephoned my bank (Halifax) and was informed it was a spoof. They have stopped it from their end.If in doubt, check your bank first.

If you are ever not sure about an email from eBay or Paypal, paste the first line of the email into Google and all will soon be revealed! It's also a good idea to install the eBay toolbar, this will tell you if you are trying to send your eBay/Paypal login info to a site which is NOT them.

It keeps being pointed out in the forums - but I'll repeat it yet again - that no bank or financial institution requests your personal details, PIN numbers etc in an e-mail; it should be immediately deleted.

e-Bay does like to be kept informed of spoof e-mails, however, and will keep you posted as to its subsequent actions.
