audio problems.

when anything audio wise happens on the computer, the audio stutters really bad, as if im asking the computer to run a million programs whilst playing an mp3 although it is JUST windows xp and media player running.

my system:
packard bell imedia
pentium 4 2.53ghz
480mb ram ? is this right - its what system info says. i thought i had 512.
80gb HD, 63gb free.
EXTERNAL SOUND CARD, sound blaster extigy.

i had to reformat the hard-drive last week and re-install my programs. i kept it to a minimal to try to save on system resources as i use this computer for music production!

anyone have a clue? thanks!

After you formatted did you then install the motherboard drivers next?

Go to click here & enter SID6516 in the box & press the Search button. You'll get a troubleshooting/optimising list to work through.

If I find a troubleshooting guide specifically for the Extigy I'll be back to post it. In the meantime work with the above list of tips. Good luck, G
