I have just installed a cd rw drive. I had one before so it was just a replacement. I installed nero 5.5. Everything is working fine except that know when I insert an audio cd it will not auto play but come up with a box asking me to select what xp proo should do with music files. I get the choice of nero software, Open folder to view file and take no action. there is no media player listed etc. can anyone tell me how to get the cd to play automatically. Thanks

try going to device manager and removing your cd player.Re-boot and let windows instal it again

No luck at all. Uninstalled the new cd/rw and the dvd rom but both still behave in the same way. Off to bed now. Annoying problem but not the end of the world. thanks again. Nessie

anyone

  britto 22:50 13 Aug 04

Have a look in Media Player Tools Options File Types and see if Music CD playback has a tick in it.

Also Nero asks if you want to turn of Auto Notification (requiring a restart) don't know if you have done this.

check the device manager for your cdrw and the properties / settings
