Audacity MP3 import help

  Dave_82 16:23 25 Sep 07

Having heard good things about audacity, I have just installed it, but am having immediate problems.

I am trying to import an MP3 file to mess about with, add bits too and suchlike. When it is imported though, it jams all 4 minutes of the song into a 2 and a half second timespace. Obviously, this makes the tempo of the song ridiculous and any fiddling with it impossible. I've tried everything to revert the song to it's normal tempo so I can start working with it, but to no avail.

Any ideas?

Something is seriously wrong with your installation if this is happening. I've never noticed any such problem. Does it happen with all MP3 files or only with one?

I would try a different version of the lame_enc.dll encoder that is used for MP3 import/export.
