I'm putting vinyl onto cd via Audacity. Can someone tell me how I get the gaps between songs so it's not one long track?

Manually, record each track as a single entity, save then start again with the next track. You could try cut and paste from the entire album, but it's difficult.

Exactly as Belatucadrus says.

If you do it that way it doesn't matter if you make the initial recording too long, because you can select and cut out any overlong silence or overlap onto the next track.

Record the lot as one track then find your track changes you can then insert silence say 5 to 10 secs ( Generate > Silence.

Thaanks eedcam, I knew there had to be a way.

Do make frequent "save-project"

Initially I forgot to do this during heavy editing of the types eedcam mentions.

Can't complain about a very effective free program, but it tends to crash/freeze unless saved often.
