I know its a dumb question. I bought a flower cooler on recomendation from this site. The quiet PC only list one type - sutable for AthlonXP. So I get it home and its listed on the box, but the only BOARDs that are listed are the Socket 370 and 462.

Is this a printing error? an I holding the right part?

AMD Athlon's use socket A. The sockets you mention are for Pentium's.

My quandry exactly. It quotes intel and AMD chips but only on Pentium mobos.
so it must be a printing error

socket 462 is socketA so you're Ok

Sockets 462 and 370 refer to the amount of pins they have on them.

socket A and socket 370 can BOTH use the same cooler fans, they are the same size processor, Socket A just has more pins. hope this clears it up
