I have just assembled a new computer based on Athlon 2500+ processor. The clock speed should be 1830 but is shown at bootup as 1100 and in Windows ME system properties as 1089. I have an ASUS A7N8X-X mobo with Pheonix BIOS. Any ideas why this might be. The machine functions OK. (the figures may not be precise, I'm working from memory!)

try changing the fsb speed in your p/c bios from 100 to 133

Shouldn't that be 166? I think they run at 11 x 166 = 1826

Thanks guys! Yes, it's 166 X 11.

I am posting again because the system is a bit unstable at 166 X 11. At 133 X 11 it's fine. What could the possible culprits be?
