I have an ASUS V8420 graphic card installed on a
Gigabyte GA-8PE667 Ultra/Pro with an Intel 2.0 g CPU.
Windows 98/Me OS

It works fine with populated memory of

256meg DDRmem

or

512 meg DDRmem

or

512 meg DDRmem + 256 meg DDRmem

Windows refuses to work (other than in safe mode) with

2 X 512meg DDRmem installed

That is 512meg DDRmem in bank 1 and 512meg DDRmem in bank 2

I have tried putting the memory in different combinations of the banks and
have even changed the memory.

Please could you provide a solution.

click here - as the article says, there are a few 'workarounds' in the MS Knowledge base, but they basically tell Windows to ignore memory greater than 512MB.

Keep it to one side until you upgrade to XP - it will love the extra RAM
